BPM Winter School 2012

The Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS successfully hosted the BPM Winter School 2012 event which attracted students from all over the world. The aim of the BPM Winter School was to disseminate fundamental knowledge as well as the latest developments in the field of business process management.

Course Contents

The course is organized by the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management at the Institute of Information Systems of theUniversity of Liechtenstein; one of the most active BPM research groups in Europe. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary state-of-the-art in BPM. Classes are taught by BPM thought leaders from both academia and practice. In additional case studies and exercises you practically apply concepts and methods. You are expected to read assigned papers and book chapters before attending the course. Topics covered in the course include:

  • Introduction to BPM
  • Methods along the BPM lifecycle
  • Process-aware information systems
  • Alignment of BPM with corporate strategy
  • Governance of BPM programs and projects
  • Human factors in BPM
  • Culture in BPM


The Principality of Liechtenstein is located in the Alpine Rhine Valley in the heart of Europe, surrounded by its neighbors Switzerland and Austria. Liechtenstein is a wonderful place for a wide range of winter sports, such as snowshoe hiking, sledding, ice skating, skiing, and snowboarding. The BPM Winter School will take place at the University of Liechtensteinin Vaduz.
