International PhD Seminar (February 2021)

We organized a PhD seminar targeted at international PhD candidates. The (virtual) seminar took place from 02/03/2021 – 02/05/2021. During the seminar, PhD had the chance to present and discuss their research as well as to receive feedback from experienced scholars. As such, this event encourages membership in our community. International students and senior scholars attended this seminar, from faculties such as University of Notre Dame, University of Cologne, Vienna University of Economics and Business, and Goethe University Frankfurt.


ERCIS BPM Winter School 2021/2022

In 2021 we planned and communicated the ERCIS (European Research Center on Information Systems) BPM Winter School in 2021, which took place at the University of Liechtenstein from 10th January – 14th January 2022 (we had to postpone, due to the lockdowns in Liechtenstein and the surrounding countries). Students from the ERCIS Network (member institutions) came together to attend a physical version of the BPM Winter School. Besides lectures on advanced BPM topics, guest lectures (e.g., by Hilti), and social events were included in the agenda.

Bernd Schenk was participant at the panel discussion at the “11. Europäischer Datenschutztag” on 25th of January 2017 at University of Liechtenstein. Participants from all over Europe discussed about the topic “Maschinen statt Gefühle – Wer trifft die besseren Entscheidungen?”

Museum Summit in Liechtenstein 2013

Questions like “How will the museum of the future look like?” and “Which technologies and concepts are necessary for it” were discussed by researchers of our institute with representatives of leading museums from all over Europe in the Liechtenstein National Museum.

Co-Chairs DESRIST 2013

Jan vom Brocke co-chaired the International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology (DESRIST) together with Matti Rossi from Aalto University in Finland. Stefan Seidel co-chaired the doctoral consortium, Oliver Müller co-chaired the Products & Prototypes Track. DESRIST 2013 received an all-time high number of submissions from all over the world.

Study Trip to Vienna 2013

Jan Mendling welcomed a group of Master’s students from Liechtenstein at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Beside lectures on process mining, the one-week trip included visits to the national library’s web archiving project and different companies.

IRIS 2011 / Invitation to IRIS Conference

Members of the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS participated in the 34th IRIS conference held in Turku, Finland. According to the organizers the IRIS conference represents the oldest IS seminar in the world dating back to 1978 . The IRIS is organized by the Scandinavian Chapter of the AIS.

MCIS 2011 / Track on E-Services and Business Process Management

The Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS co-organized a track on E-Business and Business Process Management at the 6th Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (MCIS 2011).The MCIS 2011 was held on Cyprus and was organized by the Cyprus Association for Information Systems (CY-AIS).

LCAIS dinner at the European Conference on Information Systems 2009 in Verona, Italy

The Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS held its first dinner event in the course of ECIS 2009. Prof. Jan vom Brocke, president of the LCAIS, invited researches from Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America and Liechtenstein to exchange ideas in a nice atmosphere and to introduce the LCAIS to active members of the AIS community.

The constitutional meeting of the Liechtenstein Chapter of AIS (LCAIS) was held at the University of Liechtenstein, Vaduz. We are very happy that Professor Marco de Marco, who has become the chapter’s first honorary member, participated in this event.
